MAC is encouraging fellow citizens to actively participate in the upcoming 2020 census. The census takes place every 10 years and is essential to the progress of our communities.

The results will show where communities need new schools, new health clinics, new roads and other services for families, older adults and children. They’ll also inform the federal government on how hundreds of billions of dollars in funding will be allocated to more than 100 programs including Medicaid, Head Start, block grants for community mental health services, and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Last, but not least, these results determine the number of seats each state receives in the House of Representatives, and they’re used to district lines for legislation.
