The first meeting of the newly formed Muslim Jewish Advisory Council took place Tuesday, January 28th. Several Muslim Americans for Compassion board members were in attendance: Dr. Muhammad Babar, Ozair Shariff and Dr. Waqar Saleem.

The event served as an introduction of the new members and perspectives, but also gave the opportunity for the forming of a mission statement. It is as follows:

The First Meeting of the Muslim Jewish Advisory Council (MJAC).

“America promises all its citizens equal rights and equal protection under law. We have come together to help deliver on that promise for our communities and all Americans, and to participate in building our country pursuant to its laws and ethical traditions.”

We look forward to this partnership growing and creating numerous opportunities for compassion and good works in the time to come.
