MAC, in association with Kentucky Refugee Ministry (KRM), welcomed an Afghan refugee family on July 07, 2022, at Muhammad Ali Airport in Louisville.

MAC volunteers assisted KRM staff with setting up the apartment and getting some of the basic supplies. Special thanks to Dr. Mehreen Mansoor, Debbie Harper, Adam Babar and Sally Seyal for coordinating the initiative.

MAC has sponsored and welcomed refugee families in the past, helping them get settled, providing physicals as necessary and working with KRM to connect these families with much needed resources. We’re proud to work alongside KRM, which has done amazing work welcoming refugees into Kentucky for more than 30 years. If you believe in their mission, sign up for their newsletter at www.kyrm.org.

Update:

Muslim Americans for Compassion (MAC) volunteers visited the home of a refugee family from Afghanistan to deliver school supplies on August 4th, 2022. Kudos to volunteers like Dr. Mehreen Mansoor, Debbie Harper and others for setting up the apartment. MAC, in collaboration with Kentucky Refugee Ministries, will continue to support the family for rent assistance, schools supplies and other needs.
