MAC sponsored the lunch for Upcoming Storytellers students on July 21st, 2026. Dr. Maha Kolko, MAC Board Member & Project Manager for Community Outreach and Volunteerism in Human Resources at the Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) was instrumental in coordinating this initiative.
Upcoming Storytellers allows young people to get involved with filmmaking and digital storytelling. According to their website:
At Upcoming Storytellers, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to tell their story.
Each summer, we provide a free, hands-on filmmaking and digital storytelling program for youth ages 13–18. Students work alongside professional filmmakers, photographers, podcasters, and content creators to learn real-world media production skills while building confidence, creativity, and connections with their peers.
For many of our students, this is their first opportunity to access professional equipment, industry mentors, and career pathways in the creative arts. In just one week, they collaborate to create original films and media projects that showcase their voices, experiences, and perspectives.
The program is completely free for participants, which means we rely on the generosity of donors, sponsors, and community partners to make it possible.
