On Saturday, December 18, 2021, MAC and the Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America (APPNA) delivered supplies to more than 100 families in Mayfield, KY. This small town in Graves County, located 3.5 hours away from Louisville, faced the brunt of the terrible tornadoes last week. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to first responders and all the men and women in uniform who are on the ground to provide much needed assistance to Kentuckians in need.
We delivered essential supplies including toiletries, diapers, hygiene products, trash bags, first aid products, Christmas gifts and more on Saturday, December 18, 2021. These supplies were delivered directly to the children and families in need with help of local volunteers on the ground.
A food truck was also arranged by MAC’s dear friend John McConnell who has feverishly served the community since last Saturday. Thank you to Doctors for Healthy Communities, Kentucky Country Day School and its wonderful students and staff for a very successful school wide drive to collect the essential items.
PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Greater Indiana and it’s wonderful staff did an awesome job in collecting hundreds of toys for the children to have in time for the Christmas. Special thanks to Random Acts Of Kindness-Louisville for snack bags, Supplies Over Seas & Dr. Wilson Dentistry for hygiene kits, Signature South staff for collecting toys for Christmas, Le Ann Wilson & Dr. Shorten with Springhurst Cosmetic Dentistry for oral hygiene products and Terri Connolly with Highland Presbyterian Church for household supplies. We appreciate Amazing Gracie’s Food Truck and Big Mike for providing food to the tornado victims and volunteers.
Special thanks to the APPNA for its close collaboration and to the super volunteers: Ozair Shariff, Melissa Brown Walker, Sarah Moran, Waqar Saleem, Andrew Dunn, Paul Patel, Shareen Thomas Dunn, Denise Sears, Sajjad Jameel, Asadullah Nawabi, Rana K Latif, Sohail Zuberi, Naveed Chowhan, Haleh Karimi and Syed T Raza for their dedication and devotion to support fellow Kentuckians in need.
