On Saturday, August 22, Muslim Americans for Compassion (MAC) board members Dr. Waqar Saleem and Dr. Maha Kolko represented the organization during the Walk for Peace Louisville event sponsored by Drepung Gomang Center for Engaging Compassion and Nonviolent Louisville. The event featured the creation of a flower mandela for peace, a two mile walk in the downtown area, numerous speakers advocating for peace, and a closing ritual of peace. Dozens of non-profit organizations in the region gathered for this special event.
