On June 23, Louisville’s Muhammad Ali Center hosted its annual Day of Compassion event where they invite the community to come together in a shared day of service.
The event marked the 10-year anniversary of Muhammad Ali’s passing and honored his legacy of service to those less fortunate. Speakers included Lonnie Ali, wife of Muhammad Ali and co-founder, interim President & CEO of the Muhammad Ali Center, Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg, former mayor Greg Fischer, Geshe Kalasang Rapgyal, Executive Director and Spiritual Teacher at Drepung Gomang Center for Engaging Compassion, Rev. Dr. Kevin Coby, President of Simmons College, and Muslim Americans for Compassion President Muhammad Babar.
Following the presentation, numerous non-profits ventured out into the community to provide services to those in need. Full coverage of the event can be found on the Muhammad Ali Center’s facebook page. The Courier Journal shared a photo gallery of the event.
