Islamic Relief USA and Muslim Americans for Compassion (MAC) collaborated to deliver Ramadan packages to Kentucky families.
MAC volunteers delivered food for refugees families from various countries including Iraq, Gambia, Sudan, Somalia, Afghanistan and others at Newcomer Academy of JCPS. Special thanks to Newcomer Academy staff for accepting and subsequently delivering. Thanks for Chef Younus of Safier Mediterranean Restaurant for his help unloading and delivery. He also delivered and distributed food boxes to refugees from Iraq and other countries at Al Nur Mosque, 2815 S, 4th street, Louisville, KY 40208.
MAC Founding President and Kentucky Refugee Ministries Board Member Dr. Muhamad Babar and Dr. Waqar Saleem, Vice President of MAC, delivered 35 boxes of non-perishable food items to John Koehlinger, Executive Director, Kentucky refugee ministries, 969 B, Cherokee Rd., Louisville, KY 40204.
The food boxes contained non-perishable items as rice, lentils, pasta, tea, dates etc. The food will be delivered to refugees from countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, South America and Africa.
MAC volunteer Farhan Abdi delivered Ramadan food boxes to refugees families from Somalia.
Also, as part of our Ramadan initiative, MAC volunteers delivered food boxes to refugees from Iraq, Gambia, Syria and other countries at the Islamic Center of Louisville, 1715 S 4th Street, Louisville, KY. Thank you to everyone who made these deliveries possible!
