On Saturday, February 2, 2019, Muslim Americans for Compassion joined hundreds of people at the Swaminarayan Hindu Temple on Bardstown Road (Louisville, Kentucky) for a Community Clean-up. Earlier in the week, vandals broke into the Temple, damaged property, and spray-painted messages of hate on its walls. Our thanks to Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer for encouraging our community of compassion to attend the clean-up. Also thanks to U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth, State Rep. Nima Kulkarni, Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear and Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin for their show of support at the event. And special thanks to Louisville metro Police Chief Steve Conrad and the entire Louisville Metro Police Department for ensuring the safety of the clean-up and our community.
