Islamic Relief USA and Muslim Americans for Compassion (MAC) collaborated to deliver 120 Ramadan packages to Kentucky families in early March.
MAC President and Kentucky Refugee Ministries Board Member Dr. Muhamad Babar and MAC Vice President Dr. Waqar Saleem delivered 72 boxes of non-perishable food items to John Koehlinger, Executive Director, Kentucky Refugee Ministries. These were distributed to various refugee families from Somalia, Sudan, Iraq and various other countries.
MAC volunteers delivered 12 food boxes for refugee families from various countries including Iraq, Gambia, Sudan, Somalia, Afghanistan and others at Newcomer Academy of JCPS. Special thanks to Newcomer Academy staff and Principal Gwen Snow for accepting and subsequently delivering.
Also, as part of our Ramadan initiative, MAC volunteers delivered 12 food boxes to refugees from Iraq, Gambia, Syria and other countries at the Islamic Center of Louisville. Thank you to MAC Volunteer Rehan Alhadad who made this delivery possible!
Our final update from the project was a delivery of 24 food boxes to Iraqi refugees at the Alzahrah Islamic Center in Louisville. Thank you to MAC volunteer Ammar for loading and delivering.
