This year marks the 23rd anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center. To honor those who served so gallantly, Muslim Americans for Compassion (MAC) shows our respect each year for the first responders who serve our hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, by arranging for their lunch on September 11. Almost 1,000 lunches were provided to members of the Louisville Metro Fire Department, the Louisville Metro Police Department, Metro Correction, Metro Safe/EMS and area hospitals emergency departments. Mayor Craig Greenberg & staff along with Lt. Governor Jacqueline Coleman joined MAC volunteers for this effort.
The 9/11 lunch delivery is an annual tradition for MAC – an activity which demonstrates the sacredness of all human life regardless of creed, culture, race, gender, sexuality and all other circumstances.
